I'd like to welcome you to this very first draft of the new design for virtualErik.com
To put it delicately... this place is a fucking mess. You can't really expect anything else from a first draft though. Creating websites is difficult, and creating original websites nowadays is close to impossible.
I have this annoying habit; I want to make as much of the website myself. Copying others code etc. simply doesn't do it for me. I get a kick when I see the end result of a website I have created from scratch. Of course there are sometimes exceptions. The blog, for instance is running on WordPress. I only made the theme for it, so it'd match my former website design. Sooner or later I will have it match this new one, too. It'll take a while.
So far, though, it seems like I have managed one of my long-time goals — to create a light design. I know it's right now sterilic white, but hang on. I will sprinkle in some color, and try to create a neat background that isn't too distracting.
I hope you'll come back, even after seeing this first draft.
